In Memoriam Natalie Bryson
On June 19, 2018, our founder and past President, Natalie E. Bryson, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children. Natalie was passionate about educational excellence and determined to bring additional resources to students and staff in the Central Kitsap School District, where her six children were educated.
In 1986, Natalie established The Paul Linder Educational Foundation, which was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) charity in 1987. She worked tirelessly to raise funds for grants to students and staff, and she delighted in meeting recipients and celebrating them.
The funds awarded by The Paul Linder Educational Foundation give students and staff the opportunity to acquire educational materials, opportunities and experiences that cannot be purchased within the regular school district budget. In addition to her work with The Paul Linder Educational Foundation, Natalie was a founding member of the Central Kitsap Community Council, a 50-year member of the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce and the first woman to become a member of the Silverdale Rotary Club. Her family has created a website that provides information about her life and legacy, as well as links to photographs and some of Natalie’s interviews and awards. You can view the website at nataliebryson.org.
Congressman Derek Kilmer paid a glowing tribute to Natalie on the floor of the House of Representatives on June 14. It was read into the Congressional Record. You can listen to his message on C-Span.org. (A print copy is also available at the family’s web page.)
The Paul Linder Educational Foundation salutes Natalie Bryson for her vision and leadership and sends deep condolences to her much beloved family.
